I'm originally from the Portland, OR area but have been in Philadelphia 10 years and now I'm happy to call it home. :) I love to travel, whether weekend drives to see new places in the United States, or bigger trips abroad. Food is one of my favorite parts of traveling...trying new things, especially street foods and local desserts or beers. Here in the US my favorite things to eat are diner breakfasts, Thai, Ethiopian and Mexican food.

I'm a former Peace Corps volunteer (Moldova 2005-2007) and used to speak Russian at an intermediate level, although now I'm very out of practice! I've also been studying Spanish and am at a beginner conversational level. (I understand much better than I speak).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm interested in meeting travelers coming through the Philly area, and for future travels want to learn more about places I can check out and to get a real sense of the people and culture.
