About Me

Hello, I'm Brie. I'm 25 (in a couple days). I live in Lebanon currently but am native to the U.S. and bound for China by the end of the summer! I'm a Gemini, vegetarian, goofy, non-religious (spiritual a bit), and known for my bad jokes. Inappropriately bad depending on my audience. I'm exploring every country that gives me a chance. I've lived in Washington, Arizona, Oregon,Tennessee, and Lebanon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to see countries from the perspective of the locals, make new friends, and learn about everything I can from whoever I can learn from.

Interests

Before I left the states I was very into yoga, rock climbing, and slack-lining. Though I'm still very interested its been awhile. I'm a gym person, exercise is important to me! I love social science and anything to do with space. I'm intrigued by cultural oddities and have a love for the strange/bizarre.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
Pretty much anything. Favorite band is Dead Can Dance. I ADORE 80's new wave.

Movies:
Anything by Wes Anderson. Not a big TV person. Usually I'm absorbed in documentaries.

Books:
I've read a lot of fantasy through the years. Currently I mostly read science articles online. I've dabbled quite a bit in metaphysical themed books. Read most of 'A Brief History of Time' By: Stephen Hawking recently. My favorite book is probably, 'Illusions; The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah' By: Richard Bach.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After a day decided out of nowhere to move to Lebanon with my best friend, packed up my whole life in two weeks with no real plan and left. Best decision I ever made.

The rest are personal triumphs such as skinny dipping in the Mediterranean, overcoming my fear of heights, and trying lots of new things.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English, some Arabic (speaking only), I can teach how to cook a variety of vegetarian/vegan dishes from Asian, Mexican, and Lebanese. I've dabbled in wine making and can teach how to work the basics. Beginners yoga and slack-lining. A variety of obscene jokes.

I want to learn about anything really. Especially languages and skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can bring things from the country i'm currently staying in. I will cook dinner, buy some wine and share good conversation. :) I will be a worthy attender of whatever adventure you choose to pursue during my stay!
