About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Laugh cry sing dance grieve play love. Touch fondly. Breathe deeply listen deeply. Experience moments where life is so beautiful it hurts.

ABOUT ME

Some of my freckles are really just specks of dark chocolate that had the opportunity to melt before falling elsewhere.

I feel so happy and connected when I get to be in wild, natural places amongst the plants and the birds.

My life’s focus is experiencing further depths of our origins- the roots of being human and learning more about evolution of the human lineage and of indigenous ways of living. I love plants, especially wild medicinal plants, and cooking up a storm and sharing precious moments with loved ones.

Cooking and singing are my medicine.

PHILOSOPHY

Remember that it is all a gift, not a given.

A stranger is usually a friend you haven’t met yet.

Greeting someone new in the form of a hug and kiss on the cheek is a good idea.

My church is singing to the ocean at night.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been out of the couchsurfing community for about three years, I'm sad to say, but now I'm back, ready to host good folk in my funky place up in the gorgeous mountains in Santa Barbara and love love love to stay in other people’s homes, getting to experience their kindness and see into their unique lives and share adventures and good food together!

Interests

Being out in natural places throughout the world admiring all the living things. Primitive skills gatherings, evolutionary psychology, cooking based on traditional indigenous influences and evolutionary theory, singing around campfires, climbing mountains, dabbling in all things absurd, enhancing my awareness through experiencing new things often.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love folk music. If I could only take music from three artists and be dropped on a deserted island for the rest of my days it would probably have to be Radiohead and Dan Reeder and Joanna Newsom.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Perfumer, The Red Violin, all Wes Anderson films

Faeries by Brian Froud, all books by Brian Andreas

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last Fall in Celo, North Carolina I got to play one of my favorite games- try catching the leaves as they fall off the tree before they reach the ground! Then, when it started to rain we (myself and fellow dear witchy friend) threw off all our clothes to dance in the rain before running naked to the South Toe River and jumping into the freezing waters, and then running back and pouring a hot bath in her cabin and grabbing armfuls of fallen sugar maple leaves from under the trees and throwing them in to the tub along with good salt and both of us got in that tiny tub together to soak for nearly an hour, grinning and laughing the whole time. So good.
