About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much of the world as I possible can and in turn to learn as much about it and it's people as I can.

ABOUT ME

I am a southern girl who enjoys taking life with a grain of salt and a good laugh. I grew up in the mountains of Shenandoah Valley, Virginia (gorgeous area...but a small town). Danced my way through my youth (literally, I was a dancer from age 3 to 18) but as soon as I graduated highschool I headed back to my roots in New Orleans, La. to go to film school. Both sides of my family were born and raised NOLA and this city holds a special place in my heart!

I am a fun loving, open minded, free spirit that loves to laugh. I love learning about the world around me and if I had the resources I would travel this Earth everyday of my life. I believe that the best classroom is the world, and it is through traveling, listening, watching, and sharing we learn the most about ourselves and each other.

I love spicy foods, thunderstorms, wide open spaces, sun on the back of my knees, star gazing, the ocean, and mystery.

PHILOSOPHY

While I do not follow any one creed, I strongly believe we should treat each other the way we would want to be treated. I also philosophize that if we spent as much time doing things we loved as we did doing things we feel we have to we all would be much happier. (does that make sense..hmm)

Personally I think positivity and honesty can take you far.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm hoping to make some great long term world traveling friends!!

Interests

The world excites me. Every culture and the people that make it up. I think people are fascinating and I love learning how people different from myself live their lives.

I wouldn't necessarily label myself an artist, but I do like to think of myself as an artistic person. I enjoy films and film making, in particularly special effects makeup. I love it!

Being outside, soaking in the sun, toes in the sand or climbing a tree, life is best experienced when you have an appreciation for the earth around you. A day spent outside is a good day!

I love the ocean. The sand. The sea breeze. The salt. The sun. There is a strong possibility that I will move to the beach one day. It is where I am happiest!

Music, Movies, and Books

Well there are way too many movies, music, and books that I enjoy to start listing. You would get quite bored I think.

I will say, when it comes to movies, I have a great appreciation for them. While I can enjoy a good blockbuster on occasion, I enjoy older movies, artistic movies, foreign (french in particular), dramas, cheesy horror, and the list goes on.

Music: I Love music. I do not know much about it, however. I'm rather open minded when it comes to music and enjoy a wide variety of things. Anything from local 'Nawling music (jazz, blues, brass bands) to classic rock, to bluegrass, to hmm...anything but hard core metal or hard honkey tonk country.

Books: I recently started reading... A LOT! I love reading. Since I can't travel as often as I would like reading is my escape. I enjoy historic fictions the most. Again, I will not bore you with a list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm sure, like most, I've seen some amazing things but probably the freshest in my mind was a snorkeling experience last year. I was in the British Virgin Islands with a good friend of mine and I had never snorkeled before. Needless to say....AMAZING! Oh my goodness I have always loved the ocean and the life beneath the surface and snorkeling was simply awe inspiring.
But I digress, so we moored at one little cove and all went for a good ol' snorkel. It started off pretty run of the mill, little fish here, little school there, parrot fish (ps: fun fact, parrotfish actually poop sand...among other things, and I total got to witness...I'm pretty sure I laughed in my snorkel and choked on some water but it was totally worth it). As we swam around we noticed an enormous school of little bait-like fish. We kept swimming through them and it was Unreal. You couldn't even see in front of you there were so many. They were super quick too, we were swimming through them but never seemed to touch. But then all of a sudden the would part in an orderly fashion and a GIANT tarpon ( I think) came swimming directly at us. Well, it scared the ba-geezes outta me, I thought it was shark, thankfully I was wrong. There ended up being a few of them lunching, as it were.

Oh my gosh it was so awesome, once I got comfortable with being around a fish that was basically the size of me while in a cloud of thousands upon thousands of little guys I didn't want to back to the boat. Hmm, I just got really excited retelling this experience!
