About Me

ABOUT ME

I would say that I am a very curious and creative person! Curious because I want to explore and experience new cultures, and creative because I have my own view of the world and enjoy expressing that through writing, cooking, and art. Embracing new cultures and meeting new people are what I'm passionate about.

PHILOSOPHY

If the opportunity presents itself, take it because you may never get a second chance.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed once and it was a really great experience. This summer I will be embarking on a trip through Europe and am really looking forward to CSing the entire time. It's a great way to make friends, teach, and learn. Also, when you're staying with somebody who knows the area it makes you feel like you're really experiencing the culture rather than feeling like a tourist.

Interests

Things I love to do in my free time are writing, watching movies with my friends, discovering new music, and exploring new places. Living in Paris allows me to have a chance to appreciate all these things. I'm also extremely interested in nature, parks, history, and museums, so let me know if you have any recommendations!

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite band is Radiohead, but I listen to a bit of everything. My taste in books and movies are about the same, I love horror and comedy. Some of my favorite books are It by Stephen King, We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver, House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski, and When You Are Engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris. My favorite movie director is probably Quentin Tarantino.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So far the thing that I've done in my life that I'm most proud of is getting to Paris and finding a way to live here. It had been a dream of mine since I was 11 to come to France and it took three attempts and 4 years of saving to accomplish it. Moving somewhere where you don't know the language well and don't know anybody is really hard but I managed and it only made me realize how amazing travel is and what I want to do with my life while I'm young. Travel!
