About Me

I work seasonal jobs. I move a lot. I have lived in four states already this year. I work hard and then travel. This works for me because I have too many interests to just stay in one place and do one thing. I have an intense love for outdoor activities, top of the list being hiking/backpacking and rafting. I'm passionate about good food and music which is partially what led me to choose a season in Asheville.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been subletting in Asheville for about three months but my sublet is up now. I have three more weeks of work in Asheville (through December 20th) so I need a place to hang my hat, get some sleep, shower. I don't need much space.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm currently reading Cadillac Desert by Marc Reisner. My favorite book is Jane Eyre. I'm a sucker for classics and fun coffee table books. All Edward Rutherfurd's epic historical novels. Calvin and Hobbes. A Wrinkle In Time. I don't discriminate.
Cole Porter, Big Joe Turner, Portugal the man, Shakey Graves, The Oh Hellos, Deer Tick, He's my brother She's my sister, Norah Jones, yadda....
The Brother's Bloom, Jurassic Park, Home Alone, Amelie, The Blues Brothers, The Untouchables, The Darjeeling Limited, The Constant Gardener, Fargo, 10 Things I Hate About You, Silver Linings Playbook, and this could go on forever....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked the Appalachian Trail in 2013, it took 5 and a half months, changed my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

AmeriCorps NCCC 2011 Alum, used to work as a Direct Care Counselor at an at-risk youth shelter. I learn a lot by moving a lot and meeting new people, some that I connect with easily and have much in common with, others that I don't understand as well and maybe even clash with whole-heartedly, but both aspects help broaden my knowledge of this blue ball were living on. I have an insatiable curiosity for things I haven't seen and experienced, things I know little about, things I don't understand, food I haven't tasted, cultures I'm unfamiliar with, places I've only seen pictures of, and on and on.
