About Me
When I was younger I already loved to travel in the C.S. spirit, but there was no internet those days so it was not as easy as it is now !
I 've always been interested in other people, culture, religions, countries,.... so I always prefer to stay with locals and learn a lot about their experiences, way of live, stories,...
That is also why I love to host. And I have this idea that says " if you have too much : get a bigger table instead of a higher fence" ( this is also the reason I had foster children during 20 years)
When I host surfers I love to show them the hidden places in my( beautiful) hometown Antwerp.
I also love surfers who can cook me a good meal ;-) and want to taste a few of the famous Belgian beers ;-)
So far I have been very lucky ...
To earn my money I 'm a teacher and I still love it ! I work with 6 years old children and teach them how to read and write....... Great job !!!
During my holidays I want to learn and see things and meet people, so I travel a lot. When I don't travel I hang out with my friends or children, run, read or go to the theatre.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I started hosting in 2008, but created a profile on my daughter's name (Randi Buvens). That's why I don't have many references yet.
We hosted many couchsurfers since then and always had a really good experience with it. We met a lot of nice, crazy people with whom we are still in contact!
Now it's time for me to create my own profile and start travelling myself!

Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you everything from elementary school :-D, but I'm guessing that wouldn't be of much use to my guests.
