About Me
Hey there, my name is Brigitte! I was born + raised in California and have now lived in Berlin, Germany for a couple years and explored around Europe.
I'm getting my MA in History here in Berlin and love learning about different people, places, time periods and cultures.
I think this is an amazing world we live in, filled with beautiful people, and I want to see as much of it as possible and help others experience that as well! I've done a fair bit of traveling and the small interactions with strangers or kindness of a passerby are the memories that often stick out the most.
***
In case you're visiting the U.S. and have questions about these places, I'd be happy to answer any questions --
Some of my domestic travel:
I've been to most of the western half of the U.S. and many U.S. national parks, including: Yosemite, Yellowstone, Crater Lake, Zion, Grand Tetons, Sequoia, Redwood, Glacier, Kings Canyon, Death Valley, and lots of California state parks. Also, roadtripped from California to New York.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I usually stay at hostels, with friends, or camp while I'm traveling, but I also like to reach out to other locals to get a better sense of the areas I'm visiting and a break from the busy hostel world.
I live in a small flatshare so it would be difficult to host people right now :( when my living situation is more convenient I'd love to offer a couch! It's a joy to show people around your area and help out fellow travelers.
Interests
I enjoy being active--walking, hiking, biking, swimming... especially if it's somewhere new.
Reading!! from inscriptions in museums to novels and lots in between.
Back in CA, I have two adorable dogs adopted from the animal shelter + a rescue cat. Here in Berlin I have plants instead of pets -- but it doesn't quite fill the gap 3
I love learning about the history of the places I visit, trying my best to speak the language, and getting lost in the culture and area.
