About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live my life in a genuine and artistic way, and to share my art with as many people as I can.

ABOUT ME

Lets see if I can properly explain myself in a paragraph... I'm obsessed with creating art (photography, performance art, music, breaking sticks into smaller sticks and putting them in a pile, etc.). I love traveling and exploring. I'm an introvert with extroverted personality traits. I love learning, and learning how to do new things. I really enjoy oxford commas, and I think regular commas are ok. I like really good stories (be that in the form of conversation or movies or music).

PHILOSOPHY

I live my life to live! I've been trying (sometimes succeeding, sometimes failing) to support myself through my art, which has been a challenge, but a challenge worth fighting for. That being said, I'm still new to this and I have much to learn, but I'm trying to do my best.

I would like to live my life in the most genuine way I possibly can, and influence others to live their lives in a positive manner.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently, I'm not participating too much because my living situation isn't too conducive to it, but I hope to change that very soon!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch-surfed in 6 countries and more cities than I'd like to count. I've had some amazingly wonderful experiences and made some wonderful connections. Some of my favorite moments in life have come from a direct result from couch surfing.

Interests

I don't drink coffee, but I really like tea... umm... I've talked about liking art, right?

To get specific these are the things that keep me busy:

Photography: Street photography, portraits, landscapes, film photography, darkroom work, weddings, shows, graphic design (which isn't photography...).

Circus: Juggling, contact juggling, manipulation, fire spinning, poi, staffs, Buugeng, writing shows, performing shows, creating music for shows.

Theater: Acting, singing, set design, building sets, mentoring teens in an acting troupe, writing shows, building props, working on sound, shooting video and photos of shows, managing a theater's facilities.

Music: Writing music, producing electronic music, playing stringed things, listening to electronic music, recording and sampling, listening to other artists who are way better than I'll ever be and then giving up on writing for a bit and going out to shoot photos instead. Rinse, repeat.

Music, Movies, and Books

My absolute favorite book is: "The Universe Vs. Alex Woods" by Gavin Extence, and I'd highly recommend just about anyone to read it. A close second is "Lust for Life" by Irving Stone, which is based on the life of Vincent Van Gogh and is an incredibly uncomfortable book to read; And, of course, anything by Chris Stewart.

Movies, I'm becoming one of those hipsters that love Wes Anderson movies. I've also recently fallen in love with "Castaway on the Moon", and "En Mann Som Heter Ove" ("A man named Ove").

These days, I'm mostly into Downtempo music. I've started to grow out of lyrical music (though don't get me wrong, I still love that style of music) and lean more towards music that expresses itself without words.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran into a burning building.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach circus arts! I can teach photography! I can teach people how to write electronic music!

I'd love to learn a lot...

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook, clean, entertain, be completely silent-- AND PROBABLY MORE!

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, England, France, Germany, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Scotland, Spain, Sweden

Countries I’ve Lived In
