About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To boldly go where no man has gone before

ABOUT ME

I enjoy being active, this winter I've found myself hit with a hard bought of cabin fever and I just want to get outside, problem is it's 15 degrees out there right now and that's just unpleasant to the skin. I enjoy good company and doing fun things (as don't we all?) such as disc golfing, ultimate frisbee, footbagging, cycling, hiking, the list continues... but if it's outside and free I'll probably like doing. I also enjoy getting a "feeling" for a city, going to a completely new city and trying to see what it's like. What kind of layout they have, if it has a lot of nice bike lanes, how their parks are kept up, what it smells like, how friendly the people are, what kind of museums they have, I could go on but I'll stop there.

Oh yea, road trips are amazing.

PHILOSOPHY

Most people are about as happy as they make up their minds to be. -Abraham Lincoln

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I just heard about this and I loved the idea of having a community that let's other people stay at their place for free. Even though Kirksville isn't exactly number 1 on many people's "Places you must see before you die list" it's a really nice town. Maybe I could show people how to make this small town a bit more fun. Also I hope to do some traveling in the future so this would also help keep the expenses down and meet people who live in the area.

Interests

Ultimate frisbee, biking places, shows and music festivals, disc golf, footbagging, cycling, camping, hiking, bikes, parks, people watching, getting around on my bike, museums, botanical gardens and zoos, outdoors and bikes

Music, Movies, and Books

The Fountain, Sunshine, The Onion, Waking Life, Jackie Chan, Zombie Movies, Cheezy old movies in general

Music has gone through a lot of phases, but I will attend any live show that other people are excited for. I find that after I've seen it live, it has a whole different meaning when I listen to the recorded versions. Anything that is danceable, electronic, jam bands, folk, house, trance, blues, it's all fun stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bike & Build - Central US route 2009

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an avid photographer, I've worked several paid jobs but my favorite photos as from are when I get to goof around with the camera and a few friends. I always travel with my camera so if anybody wants portrait or some random shots I will be more then happy to accommodate. Or if anyone is interested in photography I have gotten a good sense of equipment, what you need and what you don't. As well as various techniques and tricks to try when you do your own shooting.

I love cycling and through this I've worked a lot with the Bike co-op up in Kirksville. I have worked there for a about a year now and have a pretty good understanding of bike maintenance and repair, most bike repairs are really simple and I would be more then willing to help out with any bike troubleshooting you might have.
