About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to explore and see the world in a different way

ABOUT ME

Hi. I am an au pair in Belgium at the moment and a part time student at a university here. I am looking for some people to tell me about the traditions in the following countries - Denmark, Germany, and Ireland since I have roots there and have not been to any of them yet.

PHILOSOPHY

Dance like no one is watching

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now, I cannot say that I can give you my couch since I am staying with a family in Belgium at the moment. However, I will bring you a small gift from Belgium in exchange for a couch. Once I am back in California, I will consider offering my couch to travellers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I went couch surfing for the first time in Paris with my friend this past April. It was amazing! The locals know best. One couple that we stayed with suggested that we go to Cassis and the Calangues when we told them we were not sure about where to go in the Marseille area which was our next destination. It was the best suggestion we ever got!

Teach, Learn, Share

Random French phrases to teach:

"Vous donnez votre langue au chat?" means "Do you give up/in?". It literally means "Do you give your tongue to the cat?".

When someone is dead, he or she is sometimes referred to as "le feu" which means the fire. Weird.

When someone does not sleep or pulls an all-nighter they call it a "nuit blanche" (in English, a white night).

Random desired knowledge:
I want to learn sign language.

Random thing to share:

Recipe for smoothie

mint
limeade/lime juice
orange juice
frozen or fresh mangoes
frozen or fresh blackberries
frozen or fresh blueberries

Put in the blender and mix well. Mmm. Delicious and refreshing!
