Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To love and encourage people like crazy. To inspire and be inspired by the awesome cultural and mindset differences that people bring.
ABOUT ME
i like to be honest and real with people... to make them feel at home and understood. i think it's rad when people can connect with one another by cutting through their emotional or mental walls and sharing their hearts and ideas. I believe that people continually need to be challenged and encouraged to grow, and continually loved on in as unconditional a way as a person can possibly muster up.
at the same time i love to hang out and have light-hearted fun, go hiking/do other outdoor activities, and be involved in the community in some way. i think of myself as trying my best to make a positive difference in the world... however slowly that may be happening.
PHILOSOPHY
life is for becoming as much like Jesus Christ as possible. That means loving Him and loving all people unconditionally regardless of their past, current, or future deeds and thoughts. It means realizing that we are completely destitute and lost without the loving gift of salvation that He died to give us. It means continually being broken down so that any and all impurities and imperfections are brought to the surface and we are transformed into living representations of the gospel.
Interests
playing music (piano, guitar, ukulele), reading great books, being outside, learning about new cultures and languages, traveling... lots of other things!

Music, Movies, and Books
I used to be into a lot of really artsy movies and pay close attention to all the criterion stuff, but somewhere along the line movies just stopped being important to me. Brit and I definitely enjoy a good movie though... recently we saw "The Fighter" and really enjoyed it.
Britnie is an amazing musician and has grown up in venues all over San Diego and LA. She writes a lot of music and listens to a wide variety of stuff. We both really enjoy artists like Beirut, DeVotchKa, Sigur Ros and Jake Shimabukuro. On our first date i gave her an Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero's CD and we jammed out on that till the CD started skipping, and we once drove all the way to Berkeley to see Jonsi from Sigur Ros play.
Our apartment is so stuffed with books that we even have a stack in our entryway that has no where else to go. I've always been a big fan of classic literature such as The Count of Monte Cristo and Brothers Karamazov... but in the last few years i think both of us have gravitated more towards books that further our relationship with God or challenge us in our marriage.
