About Me

Hello! I'm was an English teacher living in Shanghai, China but now backpacking across South America. I've been teaching and traveling when I can for the last 4 years. I've been to quite a bit of Asia, a few places in Europe, Australia, and only 2 counties in Africa. Because of all my travels I like to think it's made me quite easy going and adaptable. I'm open to learning about new ways of thinking and challenging my own perception of things which I find traveling to do in a way nothing else can.

I'm originally from Southern California so I definitely enjoy lots of sunshine and the beach. I also enjoy any activity that involves being outside.

Even though I complain while I'm doing it, I really do enjoy hiking and trying new trails haha. That being said I do love lazy travel days just walking around a nice area or reading in a coffee shop.

I really enjoy cooking even while I'm traveling. I know it's odd but I actually don't eat seafood -__- but I am open to trying anything I haven't tried before. Trying local food and drinks is a must for me!

I also try to visit at least one museum in the major cities I go to. I think it's important to learn at least s little history about where I am. If the museum isn't in English that also makes it more interesting to visit :)

I don't play any musical instruments but I love meeting friends who do or going to live music bars and enjoying this amazing talent of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to try couch surfing because I think it's an incredibly unique way to learn about a culture hands on. You get to have an insight and appreciation for your host country I don't think you can get in a hotel and sometimes a hostel. I have a lot of friends that done it and say nothing but great things about it.

Interests

I love dancing, learning about new cultures, exchanging travel stories, reading, and getting lost in a new city.

  • dancing
  • coffee
  • hiking
  • history
  • urban exploration
  • cooking and baking

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy all music except heavy metal and punk.

I love a good comedy but never scary movies.

I'm up for reading mysteries or any book that can challenge my perception on a topic.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed Mt. Fuji and started this new adventure across South America
