Overview
About Me
28 year-old female Peace Corps volunteer. I have a dual Bachelor's degree in Contemporary Russian & Eastern European Studies, and Sociology of International Systems.
I'm adventurous and spontaneous—always looking for another stone to turn over. Agreeable, down-to-earth, easily entertained and extremely social.
I just enjoy meeting people from all different walks of life, and I truly believe that every person has something to teach... just trying to learn and absorb as much as I can in the time that I'm given.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is an incredible experience, and EVERYONE should try it. You're practically guaranteed to meet some badass, amazing people!
Interests
I LOVE to hike, camp, backpack and bike. I am interested in all things involving time spent in the mountains/wilderness.
Loooove great beer, great company, and music that catches my ear and makes me move. Spontaneous road trips are the BEST--even better if you get lost along the way! Laugh 'til you cry, it's good for the soul.

Music, Movies, and Books
-I LOVE It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia! ..And also The League.. and Flight of the Conchords.
Favorite films: Psychological Thrillers, and movies that inspire me to think critically about my life and challenge my perspective.
Of course I also love comedies, action flicks and a good drama every now and then. I love the movies: Snatch, Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Boy, Moonrise Kingdom, Stay, What We Do in the Shadows, Harvie Krumpet, The Lobster, Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Horrible Bosses... and so many more.
Two of my favorite authors are Raymond Carver--his short stories are literary gold--and Roald Dahl.. And Shel Silverstein! Some of my favorite books: Will You Please be Quiet, Please?, What We Talk About When We Talk About Love, Angela's Ashes, They Cage the Animals at Night, and of course the LOTR triology.
Ray Lamontage is AMAZING! I also love Brand New, The Matches, Josh Ritter, Sublime, Over the Rhine, Kat Dhalia, Van Morrison, Elephant Revival, Amy Winehouse, Bayside, John Butler Trio... too many to name!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once (unintentionally) swam with sharks while snorkeling off the Gulf Coast in Florida--funny story.
I have run three half-marathons.
I have summited several ~10,000ft mountains backpacking in Oregon.
Swam in Lake Victoria in Uganda--not smart.. possibly the most polluted body of water I've ever been in.
Been to the source waters of the Nile river.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always pursuing new experiences. Love to try new foods--I'll try anything once. Love nightlife and parties, but I always know my limits. :)
Once a person stops exploring and seeking knowledge and adventure, they stop living. Traveling abroad, making new friends, and learning about & experiencing new cultures first-hand are the greatest gifts of life!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've got TONS of jokes to tell and love to exchange stories of travels around the world!
