About Me
Home is a beach town in Southern California. I love it there, but have always wanted to travel. Finally earlier this year I took a leap of faith to adventure across the globe with not much other than my camera and sense of curiosity.
The first half of the trip consists of volunteering in Costa Rica for a few months, and the rest of the time backpacking Europe.
I'm just as interested in conserving the Earth as I am in traveling it. I believe in reducing, reusing, and recycling (though I'm far from perfect at it).
I like to explore. There's always more to see and beauty to be found everywhere.
Laughter is the best medicine!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Having a place to feel warm and safe is a big deal to someone in a foreign place who doesn't have anywhere to go. It is a gift- sometimes you are in a position to supply it, and sometimes seeking to receive it. Always give back.
I think that people who can't afford hotels every night should still be able to see the world.
I'm on a mission to live the most authentic life that I can.
Sometimes that means getting up early to watch the sun rise over the ocean, or making s'mores under the stars. Sometimes it's dancing (badly, but enthusiastically) at a nightclub in Costa Rica, or standing in the rain awed by the lightning and thunder (we don't get much weather in Southern California). Many times it means laughter and friendship. Sometimes it's writing poems in your head, and smiling at strangers. Other times it's in cups of tea, and the way the morning light falls through windows. Sometimes it's hearing live music and feeling it radiate through your body, or reuniting with a dog who's (mutually) really excited to see you.
It means experiencing new things and making extraordinary memories.
Couchsurfing seems like a great way to do that.
There's no better way to learn about a place than through locals. I like to show people around my town too : )

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
When I was sixteen I performed Beethoven's 9th Symphony in a giant choir with the New West Symphony. I was the youngest to participate. We performed in a few different locations around Southern California. I'm surprised it's the first thing that comes to mind now, but it really did feel amazing to be apart of and I'm still close friends with people I met because of it.
