I'm couch surfing to have an authentic experience from a local perspective. You can read all the lonely planet books in the world but you don't experience the country truly until you've met the locals.
I am currently traveling with my partner on a motorbike around Vietnam and we are loving it! The experience is so authentic and we are enjoying meeting and talking with local people.
