About Me
Hi! I'm Brittany. I'm 23. I'm curious, social, goofy, and adventurous.
I'm obsessed with nature. I love lying on granite rocks in the sun, and diving into to ice cold alpine lakes. I love jog/walking through the green, misty forests of the pacific northwest. I love snow capped mountains. My dog, a golden doodle named Sassy, is my equally nature obsessed faithful companion.
I love making friends all over the world, especially fellow nature enthusiasts who want to hike and explore with me. I love learning from people; how to cook, how to speak new languages. I love to be inspired.
I'm passionate about environmental conservation, wilderness, bilingual education, sustainability, and growing food. I like working with kids and adolescents. Recently, I've become pretty inspired by yoga.
I'm not sure when I will feel like a "real adult," but I hope I stay a kid at heart forever. I'm working on living in the present moment and relishing experiences and connections. I want to take advantage of every opportunity I possibly can. I never want to stop learning.
*fun fact: I'm an identical twin, and yes, we have a secret language.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been blown away by the people I meet in the couch surfing community; kind, generous, wonderful humans who open up their homes to strangers and new experiences. They have offered me wisdom, companionship, compassion, and inspiration... and I hope I have offered them something too.
I informally couch surfed during my study abroad experience in Chile. It was wonderful. I couch surfed "for real" while WWOOFing my way through California, Oregon, and Washington. Through couch surfing, WWOOFing, HelpX, and backpacking/traveling in general, I have met some of the most fantastic, kind, and adventurous men and women. I love meeting new people from all over the world and simultaneously feeling both connected and inspired.
I can't currently accept couch surfers, because I am going through a bit of a transition and potentially relocating! After WWOOFing and getting to live in the Pacific Northwest for an environmental internship, I might be moving back to the East Bay (California) for school.
Once I am settled, (location TBD), I plan to host as often as I am able. I'm excited to pay forward some of the generosity I have received, and continue to build friendships that span states, countries, and continents. :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy so many types of music but am bad at keeping track of artist names. Definitely love being introduced to new music all the time. Off the top of my head: Hozier, Tallest Man on Earth, Lord Huron, Florence and the Machine, Head and the Heart, Fleet Foxes, Bob Dylan, Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros, Eddie Vedder...
The last book I was obsessed with was Wild, by Cheryl Strayed. (This was pre-movie!) I also loved Cheryl's Dear Sugar column/Tiny Beautiful Things. I'm always in the market for book recommendations.
I saw the movie Frances Ha recently and I loved it. I loved Inside Out ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The coolest thing I've ever done, hands down, was hike the John Muir Trail for 21 days with my family.
