About Me

I love to travel, learn, meet, create, and share!
I love to go, but I hate to leave. If I didn't hate leaving though, then what was the point in going there anyways. I'm blessed to have people and places to miss.

ABOUT ME:
I was born and raised in South Carolina and so I have a slight southern accent and I do say "y'all." That being said, I wouldn't call myself a "southern girl." I have always loved to travel and really experience new places, and even better- the people. I love good conversation, a witty sense of humor, positive energy, and adventurous spirits. I have an open mind, and deep desire to learn from people whatever they can teach me. I love art.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and explore, but most of all to meet people and share my life with them and vice versa. I've learned that if you are living intentionally you will find people that are doing the same. The best people I have met I happened upon and simply took that awkward step to start a real conversation. These people have affected the way that I live my life every day now. Couchsurfers seems incredible that way.

Interests

I am an artist and currently make a lot of ceramic work. I love all mediums though, especially unconventional ones. I also being around music and the people that make it. I have learned to play the Djembe a little, and I'll sing along, mostly off-key, but if it comes down to it I'm content to just dance.

I love outside and would rather be camping by a body of water in a hammock most of the time. Hiking and kayaking go along with this. I also love soccer, but will mess around with pretty much all sports if the opportunity presents itself.
Sitting close to water and people watching are also a pretty big part of my life.

I don't know all my interests yet, I love to try out new things all the time. If you'll teach me, I'll try to learn.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Amazing is a pretty particular word.. So one thing I've done that I'm particularly fond of is a road trip around the US, coast to coast, with my two best friends, in a minivan. I have always traveled out of the country when given the chance, and this was really nice for me to understand how vast and beautiful the country I live in is and how little I understand it. It was humbling and a great experience. . We slept in truck stops, national and state parks, a penthouse suit in Vegas, the hardwood floor of a community house in LA, on the beach in Santa Barbara, the edge of a small cliff in hammocks in Washington, and in shifts in the back of the van more times than I can count. I've had some amazing times over seas, but the disconnect that happens when you get on a plane was gone- it was all very tactile and spontaneous and unexpected.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you have a pottery wheel, but don't know how to throw, I got you- since that population exists. I can't teach you art, that's all subjective, but I can teach you how to make things proportional, about composition, or how to make something like you see it in your head. I can also teach you how to juggle a soccer ball with your feet. I love to cook with people, but I'm no expert. Being a sous chef is my jam.

I will learn whatever you it is you have to teach me :)
