Hi there! My name is Brittney Schering, and I'm 26 years old. I was born and raised 20 minutes south of Detroit, MI. From there, I went to Grand Rapids, MI for college at Grand Valley State University where I got my Bachelor's degree in Professional Writing. From there, I was off to New York City to write full-time. From NYC, I moved to Los Angeles, CA, where I continued to progress in my writing career, adding childcare to the mix to break up the monotony of staring at a computer screen all day. I visited New Orleans last July with my boyfriend, and we absolutely fell in love with the city so much that we moved here in October. So far, so good! We are absolutely loving the decadent food and the rare culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite music is that of the indie rock genre. I really love and will listen to just about anything though, and especially live. Nothing beats a great concert-- that is my happy place. Movies, I love a great drama. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is a favorite of mine. Books, I love anything that gives me a great escape from reality. Chuck P's Lullaby is one favorite of mine. I also love anything by Malcolm Gladwell.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I started my own magazine last year. Just published the 12th consecutive issue this month featuring an outstanding nonprofit, Save The Children.
