About Me

I'm a 23 year old kiwi girl and am currently traveling through the UK and Europe.

I left home in February this year, and after a stop over in Thailand I spent 3 months living in London. I then packed my bags took off on my own to spend the rest of the year travelling through Europe.

I'm friendly, easy going and always wanting to explore new places. I do most of my travelling on my own so I am always looking to meet new people and make new friends!

I'm fairly new to couch surfing but I cant wait to get stuck in to it as I have heard so many amazing stories about the incredible people you meet and the great experiences you have.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am looking to spend the next year traveling as far and wide as I can, meeting new people, educating myself on different cultures and languages, and experiencing life in a whole new way.

I cant wait to make new friends, meet fellow travelers, and discover places from a locals point of view.

When I return to New Zealand in February I want to host as many people as I can, in order to return the favour and continue the adventure!

Interests

I love doing anything that involves the outdoors, whether it be hiking, snowboarding, water sports, or just exploring. I absolutely love to cook, and especially love cooking for other people and learning new recipes.
I love eating as much as I love cooking, and nothing makes me happier than going out and having a good time with my friends and family.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite music is old school rock. I love music from the 60's and 70's, including artists such as Rod Stewart, Guns n Roses, Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, the list goes on. I also like newer music by artists such as Ed Sheeran and Hozier.

I love light hearted, funny movies. I'm not opposed to a bit of silly humour, and i also enjoy thrillers that mess with your head and really make you think. An all time favourite movie of mine has to be Hot Rod.

I really enjoy reading as a way to pass time while travelling, on planes, trains, buses etc. I take my kindle with me everywhere I go. The books I have most recently read are Eat Pray Love, The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, Last Train to Istanbul,The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I am currently reading Mahatma Gandhi's autobiography.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I have done is leave my comfortable life in New Zealand behind and move to the other side of the world. This was incredibly hard, but also the best thing I have ever done.
From this big step came another, which was going travelling through Europe on my own.
I have learned so much about myself from these things, and have had opportunities to do things I never could have done if i stayed home.
Some of the most memorable things I have done so far are:
Visiting Gallipoli and ANZAC Cove - something that is so important to all New Zealanders
Sailing around the south coast of Turkey
Watching the sun set over the bay of Kotor - one of the most beautiful places I have been.
Being in Sarajevo on the 20 year anniversary of the siege and witnessing the memorial parade, and seeing how deeply affected everyone is by it.
Hiked the coast of Cinque Terre in Italy.

Teach, Learn, Share

Cooking cooking cooking! This is something I love to learn about and also love to share.
I also love hearing peoples stories and advice when it comes to travelling. It is something I intend to do for a very long time, so the more people I can talk to the better.
