About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To eventaully get back home, and have some great friends and awesome stories.

ABOUT ME

I was in the Navy for six years working as a chemist and work supervisor for their nuclear reactors. I finished in February, and decided to spend the next several months traveling with my good friend Jason. We plan on going from Ireland to Tokyo. I really like to travel and see the sights. I love being around people and making them laugh. I typically get along with all types of people.

PHILOSOPHY

I guess that I most closely feel at home with the idea of objectivism. I tend to do things that will make me happy. I don't think that anyone 'deserves' or has 'a right' to anything that they haven't worked for. I dislike when people are illogical, but I love spontaneity. I like to live in the moment and generally have a long term goal, but not always a plan of how to get there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I am trying to surf on couches across Europe, and then hopefully through Asia. I would love to host when I eventually finish traveling and have a spare bed or couch.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

First experience was St. Patrick´s Day in Dublin where I had some amazing times and really fell in love with couchsurfing. Since then, I have been surfing couches across Europe for several months, been to a handfull of international gatherings, met the most amazing people, and can't wait to meet more.

Interests

Snowboarding, scubadiving, skydiving, snorkeling, dodgeball, racquetball, soccer, football, MMA, crossfit, pretty much all other sports to some level, reading, movies, anything funny, people watching, meeting new people, cooking, food, the beach, economics and recently politics and philosophy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Fight Club, Donnie Darko, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Ichi the Killer, Visitor Q, A Clockwork Orange, Snatch, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Battle Royal, Oldboy, eXistanZ, Point Break, The Big Lebowski, Pi, Requeim for a Dream, and most strange and interesting movies, there are very few movies that I don't like.

Music: Anberlin, 65daysofstatic, Bayside, Bullet for my Valentine, Rise Against, The Postal Service, The Ting Tings, MGMT, Third Eye Blind, Bob Sinclar, Avenged Sevenfold, anything that makes me want to dance, not emo music

Books: I really like the Chuck Palahniuk novels. He writes a lot of interesting stories. I also enjoy a lot of Ayn Rand's works. I have read and enjoyed the World War Z and Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. I just recently started to read H.P. Lovecraft's works, and have found them really interesting. Other than that I tend to read anything that someone recommends, or that I find.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the sunset over the mountains while sailing through the Strait of Magellan. Scuba diving in Guam and snorkeling in Antigua. Skydiving near the Atlantic Ocean. Polish food. Queensday in Amsterdam. Running with bulls and sleeping in parks in Pamplona. Some crazy nights in London... and Dublin... and Krakow

Teach, Learn, Share

Unfortunately most of the stuff I could teach anyone, nobody really wants to learn. I could tell you all about atomic power and how nuclear reactors work... probably in way too much detail. I could also teach about computers and how to build one or fix one and all sorts of things like that. I also make some really great enchiladas and I can teach those who want to learn the art of building a pressurized beer bong.

I do love to learn, so anything that someone could teach me would be great.
