About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to make a positive difference in some capacity every day. That and spending my free time exploring and adventuring.

ABOUT ME

I studied environmental engineering and spent my junior year studying abroad in northern Spain...possibly the best decision of my undergrad career. I grew up outside Rochester, NY, went to school in Ithaca and am currently itching for a change of scenery. I've done research in organic farming and sustainable water treatment and absolutely love being outdoors.

Having lived in Shanghai for two years growing up, I was fortunate to be able to visit many countries in Asia but I landed in Europe for the first time in August of 2011. I wanted to take advantage of an amazing opportunity to travel, learn and experience as much as I could, and I think I did pretty well! I met so many unique, awesome and interesting people while couchsurfing across Europe and I'm looking forward to meeting other CS-ers here in the US and wherever else in the world my travels may take me.

PHILOSOPHY

Laughing is my favorite kind of exercise; it takes more muscles to frown than to smile :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting when I'm not traveling and staying with other couchsurfers when I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Had an unforgettable weekend couchsurfing for the first time with a friend in Brussels in 2011! Since then, I try to participate and be active in the couchsurfing community as often as possible. I host when I can and really appreciate the opportunity to meet and get to know people, and make new friends.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to cook any vegetable and make it taste delicious.

I'm eager to learn anything new! Show me something I haven't seen before or know nothing about.

I have a lot of positivity and time to share.

What I Can Share with Hosts

At the very least, a genuine smile and enthusiastic energy. I've been told on more than one occasion that I am "too nice", whatever that means...beyond that I'm sure we'll be able to find a common interest or something to talk about!
