ABOUT ME

We are on an 18 month round the world adventure to take a long break from life and work at home, and get out and explore. We're keen to see what it is about your place that makes it a great place to be. Meet people, go places, give it a go and see what there is to see. At home we cram as much in to our time outside of work as possible, from playing hockey, to catching up with friends, to camping and heading to the beach. We both love cooking, getting our hands dirty in the garden, the arts, literature, beer, wine and a decent cup of tea. Maybe with biscuits...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

On our way around the world for 18 months, so what better way to see the world and get to know the people in it! When we get back home again, we're keen to host to keep up with meeting new people and keep in touch with the world out there.

Centres d'intérêt

The great outdoors and everything in it! If its getting out and about and enjoying the elements, we're keen. Hiking, camping, rogaining, field hockey, skiing, snowboarding, trekking, sailing, watersports. And of course, all the things that make the world go around, good food, beer, wine and friends. Sitting down for a good chat over a cup of tea or coffee is always a winner too!

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

We love all sorts of genres in all sorts of things really! Music includes mostly alternative artists, from Dandy Warhols, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend, The XX, Kasabien, Gomez, Beck, to Daft Punk, and many, many others. Some favourite authors include Terry Pratchett, J.R.R. Tolkien, Gregory Maguire and Ben Elton. And some favourite tv shows include Arrested Development, Boston Legal, Futurama, Six Feet Under and Family Guy.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

Rafting on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe, driving through New Zealand's south island, seeing the northern lights in Whitehorse (Yukon Territories, Canada), driving around the Canadian Rockies, spending a ski season in Whistler, seeing the spectacular Karajini National Park in north-west Western Australia, and any one of the amazing sunsets we are so lucky to see over the Indian Ocean at home in Perth. For both of us, one of our fondest memories travelling was when we discovered a tiny litte jazz bar in Chiang Mai, Thailand, while visiting some friends there, and spent a fantastic evening listening to amazing local jazz artists, drinking Chang beer and writing messages on the walls with the coloured pens provided! Totally unexpected and such a great night.
