About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the visitor comfortable. To be a guide to the Boston area. My wife can give you private tours of downtown Boston, Cambridge, and the oldest arboretum in America.

ABOUT ME

My wife and I (in our 70s) live in Boston close to public transportation. We have traveled a lot, lived in several countries. We have two wonderful grown daughters in the Boston area. If our small guest room is not available, a couch always is.
My wife has been an ESL teacher and so has taught and befriended many people from all over the world. She devours books.
I really like to tutor physics, sketch, exercise, read science articles and articles about the environment and the 'situation' in the middle east.

PHILOSOPHY

A favorite quote:
If I am not for myself, who will be?
If I am only for myself, what am I?
If not now, when?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted two people, one for a chat and one for a delightful week.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I did not understand that the French person I met a couple of times just wanted to chat and did not need a bed. I was confused. Now I know that chatting by itself is OK with CS.
The other person, a Brit, stayed a week and we all had a great time. We became family. She was a great adventurer - even went caving.

Interests

Besides what I mentioned above, I like to bake apple pies, play chess, read about astronomy, learn a little about the physics theories of everything.
