Overview
About Me
I am a senior (4th year) in college spending my last semester studying abroad in Leicester, England! I study Theatre Arts but my main passion is writing. I absolutely love the arts of almost any variety, although I struggle to connect with contemporary or modern art. I have always been a fan of anything and everything before the twentieth century. The history of it is beautiful to me!
I am the youngest of three children, which has allowed me to have a lot of fun in my life. I have never been a trouble maker but I do like to take risks now and again; it keeps life interesting!
I'm traveling throughout Europe with my friend Emma! We became fast friends when we learned we are both theatre majors. I always love the time I spend with Emma. We have so much fun together and never shy from a good laugh! We keep each other on our toes constantly surprising each other with our humor. I'm super excited for our adventures!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Being a study abroad student away from home without any income from a regular job leads to very expensive accommodation. My friend Emma and I looked into couch surfing and learned that it truly is a community! I'll admit I was very surprised at the network that is established from Couchsurfing, but also very impressed. It makes me feel a whole lot more comfortable learning that guests are welcome and safe, which is a high priority for me. Not even just the guests, but the references, the in-depth explanations on profiles, the helpful groups and articles, all of it is so interesting. Couchsurfing seems like a wonderful community that I would love to become a member of.

Music, Movies, and Books
I tend to lean towards a variety of rock music; classic rock, punk rock, indie rock, and pop rock. I love Journey, Aerosmith, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bon Jovi, Foreigner, Rolling Stones, and 5SOS. I'm sure there's more but I'm honestly horrible at keeping track of who sings what or who is who. I just hear a song and if I like it, then I save it. I also enjoy acoustic, some indie and anything with a good beat.
When it comes to film, I am all over the place. My guilty pleasures tend to be Sci-Fi or Fantasy because I just love seeing an imagined world come to life. But I also love films of action, thrillers, romance, and a few foreign films. One of my all-time favorite films is The Goonies. I grew up watching it and I still find it hilarious.
Ultimate favorite book is Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. It is so descriptive and allows the reader to truly learn who the characters are and understand them fully. They are my favorite characters and there are so many moral lessons; it makes my heart melt and I simply love it.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Being my sister's Maid of Honor was truly amazing. I loved planning her bridal shower, her bachelorette party, and helping make her wedding day memorable. I felt like my face was soaked in tears the entire day, I was so unbelievably thrilled to see such a huge smile on her face. I helped her with her shoes, zipping the dress, applying hairspray, making sure the veil always fell perfectly for photos, checking there was no lipstick on her teeth and making sure everyone else did as they were supposed to. It was one of the most amazing days of my life. It felt wonderful to be so close with my sister and to be so involved in such a milestone in my sister's life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Growing up, my family went on a lot of vacations. We went to Hawaii, New York, Minnesota (visiting family every summer until we ended up moving there), camping grounds throughout California, Lake Havasu in Arizona, but my favorite vacation was when we rented a motorhome and drove to Yellowstone, Wyoming.
My dad taught us how to fly fish (I have definitely forgotten that skill), we saw bears, moose, deer, the hot springs, had a bonfire every night roasting hot dogs and s'mores. That close-knit family time is definitely something I cherish. I've done quite a few camping trips and I have to admit that roughing it a bit is super fun to me. Living out of a tent, limited food supply, hiking everyday, and enjoying either the wilderness or meeting other families in camp grounds is super fun to me.
Aside from the United States, I've visited a few cities in England including Liverpool, Birmingham, London (barely), Nottingham, Bristol and Bath. I also got the chance to visit Edinburgh, Scotland which was absolutely amazing!
I have really been enjoying England; it has been at the top of my list of countries to visit and I am considering making a move in the future.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Gratitude. I find it absolutely amazing that people are willing to open up their homes and allow strangers to have a safe place to sleep. I will always show my gratitude with hosts and offer to help clean, do dishes, take out the trash, and make dinner (to the best of my abilities,I am not the most skilled chef in the kitchen but I get by!).
If I don't see my host much during the day then I would love to share with them the adventures and experiences Emma and I have in their city.
