About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Loving Life

ABOUT ME

We are 27 year old Aussies that are now being slightly boring this year and working and doing life. Last year we had an adventure of a lifetime, travelling to South America, Central America and Europe. We lived in Patagonia (Chile Chico) for 6 months for Mark's mining work. We then took the long way home exploring many different countries. We started Couch Surfing in Germany and got hooked. We loved meeting new people and living real cultural experiences. We made great friends and therefore are happy to give back a little and do some hosting. To keep the spirit of travel alive why we are back to our working lives.

We have been married for 5 years and we are both from Bendigo, Victoria. We love great food and are animal lovers. We both are from a family with 4 siblings and are very family and friends orientated.

My husband loves anything to do with mining and I am a primary school teacher who loves working with young children.

In Australia we enjoy the outdoors and often are camping. My husby enjoys hunting, fishing and motor bikes and I am a big foody who is often entertaining for loved ones.

PHILOSOPHY

Loving Life!
To be generous, fun, respectful, grateful, try, learn, appreciative, friendly, listen, share, loving, kind, caring, compassionate, organised (to a point), laughing, original and unique.....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We now plan to give back a little and try hosting ourselves.
Hopefully get involved with some CS events in our home town too.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have CS stacks of times in Europe and our only regret is not starting it earlier in our travels (as we were a little apprehensive). It was the best thing we did and made our trip more memorable than we could have imagined.

Music, Movies, and Books

Oh well we like lots of different types of movies and music.
Our likes range from the classics that our parents loved such as Credence, The Eagles, Rolling Stones, Elton John and Bob Dylan (big fan) and we can't forget Johnny Cash. We also love easy listening, like John Mayer, Monster of Men, Lana Del Rae, etc. I like a little hip hop, and we also like county (more so Mark), a fav would be Garth and Allan Jackson.
If your Aussie you would know Triple J Hot 100 - Triple J is the station on in my car. Love it!
We like to party and a dance a little (sometimes - just not all the time), so a little pop music and rock as well, ACDC, MJ, etc.
Mostly easy listening folk type music is us.

Movies is the same story as music, we like lots and many different types. We watch funny kids like Toy Story to Harry POtters, rom coms, laugh out loud, drama, action, westerns, doco's (Food inc., Earthlings, Attenborough) and we do enjoy a good history based film, like on war.

We also love our TV series. The best for us currently are...Game of Thrones, Vikings, Suits, Homeland, Downtown Abbey, The Newsroom, Scandal, The Following.

Mark's favourite book is Marching Powder by Rusty Young, based on a true story of being in the San Pedro jail in La Paz, Bolivia. A good read and comes highly recommended.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Machu Picchu trek, incredible experience with some great people.
Experiencing the biggest party on earth the Rio Carnival in Brazil, insane.
The Australian outback and the great outdoors.
Snorkelling The Great Barrier Reef and exploring the wilderness of the Daintree Forest, QLD.
