Overview
About Me
Hello! My name is Brooke. I'm from a small, island town in Washington State, USA. If you can find Seattle on a map, I grew up just a ferry ride away.
|Have courage and be kind.| Courage and kindness are the roots of many wonderful things in life. These values motivate and inspire me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel can open the world to a person in new and exciting ways! There is so much to learn and experience, but sometimes the cost of lodging makes travel difficult. The idea of a community of travelers opening up their homes to one another seems like a wonderful way to share experiences with new people who know the place you find yourself in. And return the favor when you have the opportunity.
Interests
Being outside- hiking, snowshoeing, camping, kayaking, anything that gets me into nature! Food- I have a special place in my heart for Mexican and Thai cuisine. Reading. Movies. Letter writing. Science. Language learning. Botany. Yoga. History. Photography. I'm sure I am leaving so many things out, but this should cover it for now.

Music, Movies, and Books
Folk, Bluegrass, Salsa, Bossa nova, bachata, cumbia, rock n roll, jazz, pop. I gravitate towards more mellow tunes, but like to dance, so I need something with a good rhythm.
Non-fiction and fiction alike! I like to rotate to learn new things and be entertained.
Count of Monte Cristo, Siddhartha, Arrancame la vida, Amelie, Pride & Prejudice, The Sandlot, Alamar, Ondine, Gladiator, The Last of the Mohicans to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If you are squeamish, skip this one. I survived vomiting in a scuba regulator while standing on the ocean floor. Disgusting yet amazing that I didn't die. It's a funny story I enjoy telling :) Ask me about it!
Teach, Learn, Share
Taking a beginner's orientation in most situations keeps me learning constantly. New information, skills, stories, recipes, tricks etc. I try to share when I can and teach when I am able.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I like to cook and bake! Sharing a meal is one of my favorite ways to connect with people, so if you like to eat, drink and talk, I'm your lady. Point me in the direction of a good market and we can whip something up together. Stories. Will sing and dance when inspired.
