About Me

Real quick, I won’t stay with hosts that have no references (but thank you anyways).

I'm a friendly, considerate, clean and easy going Canadian lady. I love everything related to the arts and languages. I live in Berlin and study German, and etymology fascinates me. I love exploring, not afraid of long hikes, and am a certified scuba diver. Enthusiastic about quite a number of things, which I think makes me a pretty good conversationalist!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Well I’ve had a hell of a time using it so far, so why not keep the good times rolling?

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots of electronic (but not techno or house) and video game music, Deux, Mica Levi (Or Micachu and the Shapes), Agnes Obel, Angel Olsen, Boards of Canada, Xploding Plastix, PJ Harvey, Fever Ray, The Knife, Mr. Oizo, Serge Gainsbourg, Gonzales, Deerhoof, Cibo Matto, Kraftwerk, Siriusmo, Childish Gambino, Metronomy, Mac DeMarco, Chad VanGaalen, Andy Shauf, Portishead, Perfume Genius, Moondog, Sly and the Family Stone, Al Green, Ween, Mr. Bungle, Black Moth Super Rainbow / Tobacco, just to name a few.

I love reading non-fiction, Jon Ronson being among my favourite authors. The Brain that Changes Itself, Your Inner Fish, and Born on a Blue Day are some of my favourite books.

Miranda July is cool. I love animation and I adore Don Hertzfeldt. I used to work in a video store, so it's kinda hard for me to rattle off some of my favourite films. Yorgos Lanthimos is probably my favourite director. 1960's Japanese cinema is awesome. I like comedy from Hong Kong. Seen a lot of "so bad they're good" films like The Room or Miami Connection. I like a lot of stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can lick my elbow, and I guess that's kind of amazing? I climbed a volcano in Costa Rica and in Iceland, ship wreck scuba dived in Tobermory, Canada, and decided to up and move my life to Berlin.

Teach, Learn, Share

I used to teach knitting classes? I love crafting. I learned how to do molding and casting, could maybe pass along some of that knowledge and its applications. If you're learning German, I'd be happy to practice with you. My French is weak these days, but we could give it a shot.
