About Me
Hi friends, I’m Brooke— born in Seattle, an Australian immigrant, now travelling the world full-time!
After finishing a PhD in Biomechanics, I left Melbourne on a one-way ticket and have spent the last 4 years chasing unique adventures while working remotely ~1 day a week as a research scientist and also writing a travel blog. I am always on the go, but lately I’ve really embraced slower travel, trying to develop deeper connections to the places I visit and explore beyond the ordinary tourist attractions. I love interacting with locals and discovering new destinations through their eyes, as well as learning about culture, tradition, and history. Other travellers are a constant source of inspiration and the opportunity to explore with new friends is one of my favourite things about life on the road.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Life is about connection!
Interests
Fuelled by a sense of curiosity for new experiences and wonder for our incredible planet, my greatest passion is and always has been travel— I also love hiking, climbing, mountaineering, camping, road trips, scuba diving, wildlife encounters... the list is long.
I also LOVE food and am constantly amazed by the link between cuisine and culture around the world, the way that ingredients and preparation are tied so closely to history and traditions. Learning about what makes each country and city special is a true joy, as is trying all of the local treats.

Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to share my passion for the outdoors, whether it’s hiking, mountaineering, or climbing! I’m also an avid photographer and relish the opportunity to capture some small essence of a place in photos. I am happy to share my experiences and so eager to learn from others, whether it’s their culture and heritage, a new perspective on world issues, personal philosophy, culinary skills…
