About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Renovation rescue!

ABOUT ME

I love nature and the environment, but I'm not a greeny... I suppose I'm a realist, seen some of the world, and have an idea about what it means to me... I've through some of Africa, middle east and Europe, as well as Asia!! I love meeting new people, and sharing stories.

I work full time in an exhausting job, so I can sometimes find hosting tiring.... I like to be able to pour energy into couchsurfing and cannot do this when I am tired!! Therefore I usually only host on weekends, and do not host people for more than 3 days!

****PLEASE NOTE... apparently I'm not as tall as I look in the pictures... don't be deceived, I'm only 5 foot 5.. or 165cm...

PHILOSOPHY

Be brave, life is joyous...
Live life on the edge or die bored in the middle...
Any person is only as tall as their heart is large and their soul is deep.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've been lucky enough to CouchSurf with some great people!! Met Cs'ers in Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Croatia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Italy, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden....

I will be in Hobart for most of the summer, and hope to continue meeting great CS'ers then! Come enjoy the small piece of paradise I call home!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a CouchSurfer for more than three years now... My eyes have been opened to a whole new world, and a fantastic way of knowing new people!! I will be a CSer for many many years to come!!

The best CS expereinces I have had are with people with similar interest to me... When you read someone's profile and think, have to meet that person!

I can't wait to surf again now that I have hosted... You really need to see the project from all sides to have a proper understanding of what it is really all about!!

Interests

I think I like to do things rather than see things... seeing things is an added bonus.. I like to travel to hike in the forest, wander along foreign beaches, swim in warm oceans, and have random meetings with eccentric strangers.

I like mountains, bushwalking, bike riding, plants, music, dancing like a dork, cooking, eating, smiling for no apparent reason, "riding black", hitchhiking, icecream, sunshine on cool skin, sunshine on wet skin, warm summer breezes, stretching, traveling lite, warm clean clothes, babies, the Swedish language/accent, lazy mornings in bed, crazy blue eyes, bodysurfing (even though you get sand in unusual places), icebreaker t-shirts, sunlight through leaves, rainforests, ferns, birdsong in the morning/after rain, fresh fruit, mud-bathing, the smell of freshly showered men, drinking beer from a coffee mug, taking a "traveler"/"one-for-the-road", phosphorescence on bow-waves, solitude, good company, silliness, cloudwatching, laughing till your stomach hurts, smiling at strangers, people watching, writing profile descriptions while a little bit drunk.....

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Paulo Cohelo. I'm not religious, but I like his philosophy, he makes me think about myself, my life, and how I view myself and others.
I actually really dig reading travel books and dreaming about wonderful places to visit!!

Music... lots, not sure if I can categorise...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent two and a half months on a yacht with a sleezy man... and actually managed to be NICE to him for most of the journey!! This is pretty amazing for me, because I know just how hard it was... when you are sleep deprived from night watches (3 hours sleep per day), sick of sweating in 35 degree heat, and tired from vomiting for extended periods... I'm pretty proud of me!!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to learn to cook different dishes... Before you ask... Australia doesn't really have any cuisine of it's own... I think it stole everything from another nation.. except maybe roo...
Not sure what I can share... smiles, laughs, stories.. a knowledge of plants, science...
