ABOUT ME
Hi all, I'm Brooke; I'm originally from North Queensland, Australia. I started my Couchshurfing adventures in 2013, where I hosted a few surfers at my home in Cairns, Australia. I then spent 2 years living just outside of London, and then a year in Stavanger, Norway. Along the way I stayed in the homes of a few wonderful CS hosts and had some unforgettable experiences with those new faces. I then spent a year back in Australia working as a Travel Agent. My next trip is a 2 week adventure in California in May 2018 (between LA & Sacramento), then a hop over to Europe where I'll be wandering around for the next 3 months. I've been fortunate enough to make some incredible life-long friends on my travels, and to visit some beautiful and exciting places along the way.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep doing it until it's not fun anymore! You can sleep when you're dead.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think that the people often make the place. When I was able to share my home with surfers, it was awesome to be able to live vicariously through their fantastic stories, experiences and dreams. Thats what I love about CS :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My family and I hosted a few Couchsurfers while living in Cairns. It was an awesome experience and I'll definitely be doing it again when I'm not traveling :) I was lucky enough to stay with two CS hosts when I was in France, and have met up with some CS locals in unfamiliar cities, who were so friendly and generous with their knowledge and time. I've made a few fantastic friends through CS and traveling and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to share their experiences and meet new people.
Interests
I love the beach, and anything outdoorsy. In 2013 I completed the Camino de Santiago from St. Jean-Pied-de-Port to Santiago de Compostela, and will be doing another Camino in 2018 while I'm in Europe. I love hiking and mountain walks, and hostels/camping/staying with locals is my preferred mode of travel - it's all about the experience, not having a fancy bathroom! I enjoy nights out with friends and get far too excited about good food (Italy nearly turned me into a walking bowl of spaghetti).

Music, Movies, and Books
I love to read, and I like action & drama films. My playlist features way too many Matchbox 20 albums, Counting Crows, Sticky Fingers and a bunch of other stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once saw my sister clean her room.

Teach, Learn, Share
I am a huge fan of solo travel, and it's the best opportunity to connect with people you wouldn't otherwise. Couchsurfing has helped me with that, and I like to help out others where I can.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've got stories, smiles, and a positive attitude. I'm not a great cook (let's eat out!) but I'm kind and considerate and love to share experiences with new people.
