About Me

I am in my second young adulthood being ecstatically retired by experimenting with new experiences.

I am 66 years old chronologically and approximately 10 years younger biologically. (See my interests) This means that I'm up for moderate exertion but limit my night activities to sedate experiences such as orchestras, plays, jazz venues, etc. I am not into the bar scene but will go with friends for the purpose of conviviality, not for drinking for drinking sake.

Because of the size limitations, I cannot post photographs of my home. It is a townhouse that backs onto a forested city park.

I live in a suburb about 10 miles (16 km) from the center of Minneapolis and 15 miles ( 25 km) from St. Paul. In non-rush hour traffic, you can get to almost any location from where I live within thirty minutes by car. A bus line is nearby but after rush hour runs every thirty minutes. It's safe to bicycle to either city.

I indicated I'm fluent in Spanish. Puedo hablar el espanol pero tengo problemas cuando se habla espanol muy rapido.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to assist people when I can.

Interests

I am an avid road bicyclist (have never had the opportunity to try trail biking) who averages 13 mph (20 kph) and have done 70 miles ( 112 km) in a day. I also Nordic ski, enjoy live theater, and scuba.

Music, Movies, and Books

Theater: "The Skin of Our Teeth" by Thorton Wilder. (He is known best for "Our Town.")

Books: Oh, come now, you don't expect a librarian to have just one, do you?

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Whatever is next. I prefer to look ahead rather than reminisce, which is why I rarely take photographs while traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Lots of information about the Minneapolis-St. Paul area and interesting sites. If you are camping, state parks are scattered throughout the state that will provide you with experiences other than urban.

Minnesota has great paved trails throughout the state that also provide a opportunity to see the state other than from a car window.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Australia, Denmark, France, Germany, Mexico, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
