Hello!
As an avid cyclist, I have a deep appreciate for others' willingness to open their homes to myself and groups I have traveled with. Now as a family man, the opportunities to travel are more limited and I need to be more frugal than ever if I'm alone on a bike trip, and couch surfing also fills the social void while meeting new people.
My wife and I both teach, so time off is something we have as a luxury and I enjoy much of that time bicycle racing , beaching it with our little one, and getting away for the occasional bicycle tour. The Mrs. thinks I'm a bit nutty for thinking a spot on a floor to put my thermarest is a big time luxury. We are fortunate to live in a beautiful area that also has become a craft beer mecca, hooray for IPA's.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Throughout my adulthood I've been able to a great deal of the lower 48 and met many friendly people because of the willingness of others to let me crash on a couch. I love to travel, and I find that stealth camping gets old and lonely, so getting to meet and socialize with new people is a great change of pace from staying alone in a roadside park.

Music - too eclectic to nail down
Movies - Pulp Fiction, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Tarantino and the Cohen brothers movies
Books - Maniac McGee is usually on my all time list
