ABOUT ME

A curious, restless and wandering soul. Love being immersed in new experiences but have developed a particular affinity for the strange, esoteric, unconventional and peculiar. Don't care much for sport, tv, authority and institution. Love nature and find life (in all its complex forms) very intriguing. Have learnt to appreciate the journey, and become less reliant on the destination. I don't know why I'm here or how I got here, but I'm enjoying finding out.

Choose good health, low cholesterol and dental insurance. Choose fixed-interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisure wear and matching luggage. Choose a three piece suite on hire purchase in a range of fucking fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who the fuck you are on a Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing fucking junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, fucked-up brats you have spawned to replace yourself. Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used Couchsurfing while travelling through South America 2012. What started out as a way of trying to save money quickly became a way to engage and connect with locals and immerse myself (however briefly) in the lives and culture of other people in a real and authentic way. It was a revelation and transformed my attitude toward travelling, why I was doing so, and how I was doing it.
