About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom.

ABOUT ME

Now there's the rub. I try to be a good person and I put a very high price on politeness and consideration. I'm somewhat introspective and meeting new people doesn't always come naturally to me, but I hope to change that little by little. I'm a bit of an old soul, I guess, and you're more likely to find me with my face buried in a book than partying all night. I love art and culture and to learn something new. I have a sense of humor that is more easily noticeable the more comfortable I feel around you. I love to travel and I can honestly say that there isn't a single place in this planet that I don't want to see someday. And, with that in mind, I packed my backpack and set out into the sunset. This is Month 14 of my little round the world trip.

PHILOSOPHY

For too long a time, you believe that life meant following a certain path. You study, you graduate, you find a nice 9-to-5 job where you where a suit and tie and repeat the same thing day after day... But one day, on your way to work, you notice this other path, hidden among the tall grass, looking kind of abandoned, and you step on it and nothing will never be the same again. I guess my personal philosophy now can be described as "why not?"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I made a profile when I first learned about Couch Surfing and never got around to making something of it. I hope to change that now. Because I'm travelling for the foreseeable future, i'll be looking for hosts. When I get back to Brazil, I hope to start paying it back with hospitality.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Still a newbie, for now.

Music, Movies, and Books

Way too much to list everything. If I were to pick only one movie, it would be "Il Postino". If I were to pick only one book, it would be "Love in the time of cholera". If I were to pick only one song, I would fail everytime.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Venice during carnival, Abu Simbel at sunrise, Machu Picchu with my best friend, Santorini at sunset, a boat on the Mekong on the way to Luang Prabang, people watching in Varanasi... The day my niece was born, in the waiting room together with my family, seeing her so little in the arms of my brother. It was like a thousand Taj Mahals rolled into one tiny person.

Teach, Learn, Share

If you stay too quiet, the Earth's rotation might make you dizzy.
