About Me

I got a dog a few months ago so I am not hosting people because I don't want to feed him with your clothes. Hope you understand.

It's hard to talk about myself. If I would ask my friends how I am they would probably say I am calm, ironic and funny. I like to meet new people and places, I like most kinds of sports, going out (and be the last one to go back home)... in general I just dont want to spend my time doing nothing.

I am currently working on my Phd thesis in Transportation Engineering in Barcelona, and I have lived/studied in São Carlos (Brazil), Porto (Portugal) and Budapest (Hungary). Yup, I am an Engineer but I do like other stuff (history, politics, social activism in general, etc).

I hate reading and I also like reading. The first verb applies for 'books', the second one for 'news and articles' in general. it includes huge articles like those from Mother Jones. I am definitely not a fiction guy (that includes books, movies, tv-series with supernatural stuff etc)... I can only stand those things in videogames which is my biggest (probably) hobby, even though I've been playing less and less.

I hope you will feel at home if I am hosting you (:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books

Not much into reading. Last one I read is a collection of texts by Eduardo Galeano (Futbol a sol y sombra). As of May 2018 I am reading "Como conversar com um fascista" (Marcia Tiburi) (How to talk to a fascit), I am nowhere near the end but I enjoy few minutes I put into it every month. A few months ago I was tricked into buying some HQ, turns out it was just pure consumism. At least they are digital so they are not wasting space at home. (I might add that the only HQ I read from those was Sex Criminals for humoristic reasons).

I like all kinds of music (from Classic Rock to Samba, Funk (brazilian) to House). My Spotify account is a great mixture of everything and I am always listening to something at home.

I dont like to watch movies because I can watch some tv series episodes (2018 edit: Netflix) in the same 2 hours. Or probably spend 2 hours on my PS4. Last movie I watched was Black Panther and before that, Deadpool. I often sleep in the theater so I avoid it at all costs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

(in the early days of CS this was the part where you were supposed to write about the best places you visited)

Iguazu Falls. (Brazil-Argentina)
View from Christ the Redimer (Rio de Janeiro)
Ribeira (Porto-PT)
View of the Danube River (Budapest)
Costa Brava (Spain)

Teach, Learn, Share

TEACH
What can I teach you? *** I am definitely not teaching you samba. ***

LEARN
Honestly I am not really interested in learning a few words from your native language :D But I am open to learn anything else. Even samba. Seriously, it would be cool if you taught me some recipe from your grandma. Even better if you cooked it. Even better if she came here to cook for us. Even better if she would cook it while dancing samba for us.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some nice stories? Some people like'em. Maybe cooking? Sharing a few beers?
