About Me

Hi, my name is Bruno and i'm a 21 years Brazilian//Portuguese visual artist, really into alternative lifestyles, hip-hop culture, independent art, vaporwave/lofi and weed. I'm also very savi with computers and internet and i guess you can say today my main dream is to be able to live as an artist and make my own producer/studio. I tried to make an living in my city first and than travel, but over there in Brasil life is much harder, specially now, with an extreme right wing president recently elected (Bolsonaro), so that's why i decided to leave and try a new life in the "old" continent. So now i left Brasil alone and i'm in Amsterdam looking a job, a place to rent and also an art school, but i need some help in the mean time, money is really short and this is my first time ever using couchsurfing, but I'd love to get to know different people and cultures, and also work for a living.

I know how to cook, how to clean and you can count with my help with anything, i don't drink a lot and the only drug i use is weed with a lot of moderation, i treat my body and my home very carefully and i'm also very hard working and really looking for a job, in two weeks i got already an bsn number, an bankaccount from here and two job offers at hard rock café and macdonalds. I also truly believe there's good in all people and i always try to see life from this angle, always keeping an warm hearth and a chill head, this attitude has gotten me into some trouble (some italians stole my money and bike last week), but also made me a lot of good frinds so far that have been helping me a lot along this journey. Once you get to know me you will see all i'm trying is to live an honest life, i will take any help i can get, but will also help anyone who asks, it feels a little weird to say all this, but it's all true i swear. c:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

my objective in couchsurfing? to find a place to stay until i can get my own place, my budget is pretty tight and i can't depend on hostels for much longer so i need to find a place fast, but i'm also looking into learning the local culture and language and would be more than happy to share mine,

Interests

like i said before i'm very interested in making and consuming independent art, but i'm not some hipster purist who only watches french movies lmao, i like a lot of the "commercial" stuff too, i think most of it is trash, but i learned english mainly by watching north-american tv series and movies, so i kinda got a little used to trash ahahahhah

Music, Movies, and Books

i'd say my favorite rock band is lcd soundsystem, but in the last years i've been listening to a lot of rap music, theres a giant hiphop scene in brazil, i even tried making a documentary about it once, but lost all footage in an unfortunate event, i got very eclectic taste and genuinely like most things people show me, but when i'm on my own i'm mostly hearing rap and lofi hip hop. You can find some of my favorite movies here https://filmow.com/usuario/brunoivas/ and i don't know what else to say, i'm really into classic sci-fi books like the foundation series and the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy (my favorite)...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

welp i'd say it takes a lot of guts to travel alone across the atlantic but i don't know if you can call it something incredible, i still have much to learn before i can honestly say i did something incredible in life, but at least i'm getting somewhere...

Teach, Learn, Share

like i said before i know a ton of stuff about Brazil since i spent my whole life there, and i'm eager to learn new cultures, make new friends and share great moments!

What I Can Share with Hosts

i can cook and clean, share a drink (i got some beer and cachaça i brought from my city) and a lot of crazy life stories.
