About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Work hard, play hard, sleep in between
ABOUT ME
Just like 110% of couchsurfers (if profiles are to be trusted), I am "easygoing", "openminded" and "love other cultures" but somewhat ironic.
PHILOSOPHY
That one can either expose oneself aggressively to the world or else suffer from acute alienation and spiritual atrophy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm unlikely to couchsurf myself anytime soon. But I have an idle place at home, in Copacabana near the beach, and I feel bound to have people over (see personal philosophy section)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted a few people. I have never surfed.
Interests
Just too many to list here.
- politics
- traveling
- anthropology
- languages
- beaches
Music, Movies, and Books
Besides reading a lot about oil in Brazil (it's my job...), I am reading on and off Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn Rand (I'm libertarian, I confess, but if you're progressive we can debate about it)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've lived in Morocco for a year, as a cultural exchangee when I was 18. Fasted during Ramadan, tried to organize garbage pickers into a cooperative (and failed...) and learned moroccan arabic (nowadays a bit rusty).
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages, love'em. Whatever I can tell about Brazil and Rio: politics, economy, anthropology and (off course) travel advice.
Countries I’ve Visited
Algeria, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Djibouti, France, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Paraguay, Qatar, Rwanda, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United States, Uruguay, Yemen
