About Me

I was born and raised in Rio into a Lebanese family. Being a sick child, I grew up reading books and watching films on TV. When I was 15 I discovered my local alternative film theater and my life never was the same again.

Music, Movies, and Books

Writers (Fiction): Miltom Hatoum, Machado de Assis, Clarice Lispector, Kurt Vonnegut, Arthur C Clarke, Isaac Asimov and the Russian Masters. I'm also an avid play reader.

I don't have the habit of reading poetry, but i'm really trying to deveop it. If you are a poetry buff please give me some recommendations.

Everyhere I go I bring my copy of Andre Bazin's "What is cinema?" and I'm always reading film reviews . If you are interested, we can spend hours talking about my favourites (and your favourites!) film crictics.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
I don't have a preference when it comes to music. My mother has a couple of thousands of CDs at home, so I as raised to listen to any type of music.

Some examples: Pink Floyd, Chico Science, Rush, Kendrick Lamar, Gogol Bordello, Ghost and Sepultura

I recenty got into balkan music.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I can't talk about my love for cinema on such a tiny space. I watch basically anything and like basically everything (But, god, how much I hate Interstellar!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Worked as an assistant in some mini documentaries about the Rio Olympics. As the only portuguese-speaker of the team, I got to interview Neymar after the football final (and he is a real douchebag)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: The lenguage of Camões (aka Portuguese) and how to cook some brazilian and lebanese dishes (I'm not a Michelin rated cook, but I'm not bad either). I'm a terrible bass payer, but I think I can teach you the very basics of the instrument (if we have an available bass)

Learn: New flavours, new sounds and new ways of seeing things (Sounds a little bit vague and cliché but is the truth, I can't help it)

Share: Stories stories stories! Before college I spent two years of my short life working at some unusual jobs, so I have many funny (and some creepy) stories to tell.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can do some cooking (depending on what you are into) and some housework if you want. Every host deserve a beer (or any beverage of choice)!

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Chile, Czech Republic, France, Italy, Lebanon, Portugal, United Kingdom, United States, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
