CURRENT MISSION
To live with compassion
ABOUT ME
I am an educator. I've worked at an urban farm, a couple outdoor ed centers, a botanic garden, a zoo, in nyc public schools, and I ran an ecology-based summer camp a few years ago. I love teaching young people where their food comes from, and exploring how we are connected to everything else on the planet. I especially love teaching about compost and kids love worms! I would like to be a beekeeper someday with a roof garden and some chickens, I'm a vegetarian. Maybe some baby goats and llamas too, okay well I guess this is going to need to be a really large roof.
I dance as much as possible- lindy hop, blues, salsa, west coast swing, argentine tango, zouk, west african, and I love learning new dances! I love walking around cities in the summer, especially large farmers markets like union square. I suppose I just really like the summer. The ocean is one of my favorite places to be, but snow covered mountains like the flatirons in Boulder, CO where I lived for 5 years also have my heart.
I also really love to cook, rosemary bread and curry veggies and things from the garden. The smell of anything with cinnamon in the oven makes me happy. I try to live as sustainably as possible when I'm at home as well as when I travel.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My most wonderful couchsurfing experience was in Tel Aviv, Israel sleeping on the roof watching the brillinat desert stars with some great friends! Our host was very gracious, and I ate falafel every day, yum!
Interests
I love working and playing outside! Here are some things I like to do- camping, hiking, tango dancing in central park, farmer's markets, biking, the ocean, blueberry picking, salsa dancing, environmental film festivals, poetry slams, cute coffee shops (but I don't drink coffee), public transportation, blues dancing, urban farming, ethiopian food, west african dancing, cooking, and traveling!
