One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My father, a friend whose third pitch climbing out doors was the first pit of Mt. Whitney and I were beknighted at the base of the climb near Iceberg Lake. I've never coiled a rope, the one we put between us and the cold ground, as fast as I did that morning when the world first turned gray instead of black.
