Présentation
À propos de moi
Currently I am an undergraduate student about to graduate and move on to the next stage in life. But before that I am traveling around and trying to gain new experiences that will enrich myself; the 20's are the time to educate and travel before life and other responsibilities bog one down. I am a very humorous person and enjoy laughing (who doesn't really?). Disclaimer: my sense of humor is generally very sarcastic and deadpan (think Monty Python) so if I come off as perhaps rude or offensive I do not intend to be but generally I quickly access another's sense of humor, likes & dislikes and can tune my jokes and language. I get along with almost everyone and have been described by my best friend as a person who is very forgiving and very tolerant of another's faults.
Typically I enjoy the path less traveled, especially when it comes to attractions: when I travel to a city or different country I prefer non-tourist locations; seeing the Eiffel Tower is nice but I prefer the areas that are more for and appreciated by locals.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
Presently, for the next month or so, I am using Couchsurfing for my travels around Europe during my study abroad experience. I learned about this site from several other students and they recommended and preferred it to hotel & hostel hunting because when one travels to a city, it is always more beneficial to stay at an actual home or with a person that lives there as they can give more insight into the culture or just general information about the city as opposed to a cold transactional hotel with fliers of major businesses around.
Centres d'intérêt
My interests & hobbies range from athletic to academic. I was in Track & Field for almost 7 years and still try to keep it shape but in general like athletic activities outside of running, e.g. biking, swimming, hiking etc. When I'm not frolicking around I am studying whatever subject has my interest at that point in time, whether it is Astronomy, Psychology, Languages. Lastly, I do watch a few TV shows (GoT, The Walking Dead, Better Call Saul) and play video games when I have time.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres
My choice in music varies across several different genres, from rap to heavy metal, alternative to hip-hop, screamo to gospel (mainly Beneictines of Mary). As for books I typically indulge in non-fiction as I have read so much fiction that I've become somewhat burnt-out on the typical storyline and prefer non-fiction.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
One amazing thing that I've seen or done thus far in my life would be either my study abroad experience in Morocco or sky-diving. Both granted me a new insight or perspective on life and humanity. While the study abroad experience is an obvious reason as to why I chose it (living in an environment in which I previously had no experience or knowledge in either language or culture). Sky-diving, however, is a choice that I probably have to justify. Apart from the obvious adrenaline rush that so many people are drawn to, I chose this experience as it reminded me of how insignificant one's problems can be in the grand scheme of things: while 10,000 ft in the air, I quickly forgot about all of my problems and stressors on the ground and for 5-8 minutes of freefall and descending under the canopy I was simply in the air with nothing to bother me (except for the stranger guy strapped to my back). This is also why one of my top bucket-list goals is to travel into space.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
What I can offer hosts: a good experience with another surfer as my sense of humor and general disposition make me a very easy to get along with person. I get along with almost everyone and rarely have conflicts. My interests can range so wide that I might inspire the host to do something that they might be interested in doing along with me either for their first time and never have thought about or perhaps something they have not done in a long time whether it is due to not having anyone with which to join them or simply never have experienced.
Additionally, I can offer perhaps some informal education in language: if the host is learning language, maybe English or Spanish, I have no problem teaching them as I have been on the other side of learning languages and know how difficult it can be and how important it is to take every opportunity to learn. This makes me easy to understand in speech as many non-native speakers have commented on how easy it is to understand my English versus another native-speaker (i.e. enunciation, gramatical knowledge and ability to explain rules and structure).
