About Me

I work in clinical research management. I did my undergraduate in Biochemistry at the University of Guelph and decided to pursue a post-graduate certificate in Clinical Research afterwards. Biological and medical sciences really interest me and I always enjoy conversation regarding the direction of these in the world and how their advancement informs policy.

I enjoy cooking, reading, staying active outdoors (running, biking, hiking), music (listening/playing/singing), coffee, beer and running and, of course, great conversation. As long as you're passionate about it, I'm probably interested in hearing about it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the ability to meet someone from somewhere else and share that common interest of exploring the world, different cultures and, most importantly, new perspectives. There is nothing like that feeling of striking up a conversation with a perfect stranger and getting into deeper topics than the weather and feeling instantly like old friends. It really restores faith that people are generally good and that we're all still learning.

Music, books, exploring, movies, learning (about just about anything!). Now that I have finished university I'll have more time for these things.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm super open and have eclectic tastes, so I find it difficult to choose favourites but I'm always open to suggestions. As far as music I tend towards indie/folk/singer-songwriter but I'm good with just about anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Decided in the course of two weeks to move to France for the summer without previously having any big plans to do so and without having previously been outside of North America or having travelled alone.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help improve others' English. If you're learning French, I can help you practice, although I am not fluent. I can share a love for food and would enjoy cooking a meal together (I'm not an expert by any means, though). I play a bit of piano, but don't know how well I could teach it. I would love to learn guitar, and wouldn't say no to anyone interested in offering a lesson.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, music; hopefully some good times and some laughs.

France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, United States
