About Me
I enjoy playing many sports and love the thrill of outdoor activities like cycling, hiking.
Since Singapore is practically a metropolis, I have to satisfy my craving for the outdoors overseas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I was younger, my family would go on guided tours or on little road trips for our vacation and all these trips were really enjoyable.
However, I recently visited Siem Reap, Cambodia in Oct 2016 with a few friends and hired a private guide for visiting the various temples in the Angkor area. He was really genuine person who had a real life experience in the Khmer Rouge era of Cambodia's history. He was extremely passionate in sharing his love and knowledge of his country.
We also could afford time to drink at some local bars and participate in a pub crawl where we had the chance to meet travelers from all around the world. I met all sorts of people from German couchsurfers to Swiss backpackers to random people who met on the train ride to Siem Reap and were now travelling together.
This is when I realised that I wanted to open my eyes to the world. As much as I can, I want to travel to places where real, genuine people can share their personal experiences with me and insights to life.
Interests
I love outdoor activities. Fishing off a jetty, hiking up a mountain, trekking to a waterfall, cycling through the countryside, ziplining, cliff jumping ( haven't done it but it looks fun)
The love of outdoors stems from my interest in flora and fauna. Fun fact: When I was young I preferred playing with my dinosaur and animal toys, not so much the cars and planes.
Being in a multicultural place like Singapore, where all the different cuisines thrive together, I am (almost) always looking for great food to eat.
I'm always up for a friendly game of soccer, I think it is a great way to bond.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Anything catchy, Christmas songs.
Movies/Shows: Thrillers/Fantasy/Comedy, Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings/Hobbit, Harry Potter, HIMYM, Breaking Bad.
Books: Anything really.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I spent Christmas 2014 at Disneyland Park in California. Mad vibes as I was soaking up the Christmas atmosphere with my favourite childhood chraracters.
Teach, Learn, Share
I don't have many skillsets. However I can teach you the unique colloquial English of Singapore: Singlish.
I would love it if hosts could show me local places and local food. If your travels bring you to Singapore, I would be more than willing to return the favour.
What I Can Share with Hosts
An open mind and smiles.
