About Me
ABOUT ME
I am a Canadian doctor living and working in Scotland for the past ten years. I am also currently studying medical anthropology and global health at Edinburgh University. I love traveling and try to get around the UK and Europe as much as work will allow! I love spending time outdoors, especially running, walking and hiking in the Scottish highlands. I also love spending evenings in pubs and a good night out! More recently I have started to try and get involved in politics, joining the Scottish Green Party.
PHILOSOPHY
Open-minded, always up for meeting new people and new experiences and adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have spent years travelling Europe, getting trains and planes to various exciting cities; there is nothing better than waking up on a train and finding yourself in a new place, with a new language, new food, new architecture and more interesting people.
I have usually stayed in hostels and meeting fellow travellers is great but the absolute best times that I've had have been when I have known someone in the city or the people I have travelled with have known somebody. This way you don't just get to see the a city as it is designed for tourists, but really experience what it would be like to live, work and play there.
While I would love to host tons of interesting people my job makes it difficult during weekdays but would love to meet up with travellers to show them Edinburgh.
Edinburgh is close to the Scottish Highlands and some of the islands and on the weekend you can usually find me renting a car or taking the train to some hill or mountain trail, rain or shine! I am always keen to introduce people to the awesomeness that is Scottish hillwalking and while it can be a bit muddy I have extra clothes and boots that I'm more than happy to lend people.
