About Me

To be honest, I don't really fancy self-descriptions. Human beings are too unique and diverse as individuals to be accurately described by words. That being said, I am a very easy-going and open-minded kind of guy. I am definitely open to all sorts of new experiences and I don't believe in knocking something off till you have given it a try.

I worked in finance for a few years before making the jump the academia. I am currently a PhD student, studying the entanglements of HIV, PrEP and men who have sex with men (MSM) from a Posthumanist perspective- happy to talk about what I do if this is something that interests you. Beyond that, I love to talk about almost anything, so please do engage me in conversation!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Served in the Airforce for two years, been to many places on many different military aircrafts!

Backpacking around Thailand. I remember sleeping by a small road one night, waiting for the bus to arrive in the early hours of the morning to move onwards to my next destination.

Head resting on my backpack, eyes focusing on the starry night, I felt a tap on my hand. Looking up, it was an elderly Thai lady, with a bowl of rice with sweet meats in her hand. She offered it out to me, asking if i was hungry. I shook my head and showed her the bag of bread that I had bought earlier.

Saying that bread is never going to fill a young man like me, she insisted on me finishing the bowl of rice. So there we were, talking and laughing till my bus arrived.

Before I left, I offered to pay her. But, she refused and wished me the best in my travels. I had only known her for a few hours but at that moment, it really felt like she was like a grandmother to me.

Basically I had a really great time backpacking and visiting friends around Thailand and I don't figure that I would be forgetting it anytime soon.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a jack of all trades and master of none, I can't promise that I'm qualified to teach you anything. But what I can offer are the exchange of ideas on a wide variety of issues as well as my personal experiences distilled from my life and my travels.

Also passionate about Continental philosophy, especially the thought of Deleuze and Canguilhem, as well as Posthumanist ideas that question how humans do, might and should live with non-humans and humans- happy to discuss all of this over a cup of coffee.
