CURRENT MISSION
Meet rad people, become more of an artist and philosopher...while chipping away at grad shool
ABOUT ME
I am an unconventional, but responsible 29 year old. I think that making connections with people is probably the most important thing in life. I try to live out of my desires and to avoid living from a sense of duty or fear as much as is possible. I love camping and hiking, soccer and hockey, cooking, reading and writing short stories, listening to and playing music, talking, pastels and oil painting, health and nutrition. I think of myself primarily as an artist. I get excited about the little things in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never used this site to travel or host, but I have stayed with strangers and hosted strangers. I think that people are much more the same than different and we all want about the same sorts of things. I am comfortable counting on people and giving them the benefit of the doubt and when someone does that for you as well that can go a really long way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to Colombia with a Colombian couple last year. I spent time in Bogota, Armenia, Medellin, and Cartegena. It was so amazing to see the country and the people as a kind of insider. I like how Chesterton puts it: the traveler sees what he sees, the tourist sees what he has come to see. I feel that everyday life shouldn't change in that way when you travel--its still about making real connections and participating in a community even if it is only temporary.
