Overview
About Me
I'm easy-going and generally adventurous. I've done a good amount of traveling, and recently completed a 2-year sailing trip on a 27-foot sailboat. I am now setting off on a 1,600-mile bike ride from Arizona to Portland, OR, where I will probably settle down again for a little bit.
I'm also a bit of a nerd, and find enjoyment in tinkering with electronics and computational projects of various sorts. At least, when I'm not off on one of my adventures.
My passion though is conservation, and am hoping to find a way (in the near future) to blend my skills as a computational scientist with efforts that might help ensure humanity and nature could exist in harmony some day.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I think Couchsurfing is really about meeting people and sharing stories, with the side effect of accommodation for travelers.
I first used couchsurfing to find hosts throughout Europe when I was living in Germany, and later, hosted people when I was living in Portland. I've enjoyed my experiences on both sides, and have kept in contact with many of the people I've met through Couchsurfing.

I sailed a began a life aboard 27-foot boat with no-prior sailing experience, and voyaged over 3,000 ocean miles over the course of several years.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I'm not the most spectacular cook, but I can cook simple meals, share lots of great stories of my time at sea, and provide knee-slapping dad jokes and bad puns.
