About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stay true to who I am and what I want to be and just go for it.

ABOUT ME

Hi world! I heard about this project through a friend and I thought I'd take it for a spin. Traveling is my one steadfast love and passion like everyone here. I was a Urban Geography major so I love experiencing the various forms of urbanity across the globe. There exists a personal attraction to the busy life: the hum of cars, buses, and trucks along the city's vital arteries, the glass-and-steel clad skyscrapers, the collage of all types of people on a mission, and the wealth of restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues that are at your fingertips. I grew up in a relatively small town in southern Pennsylvania so, I think the gravitation towards the urban was inevitable as small towns just don't suit my interests. For most of my life, I have been the rather shy one, one who strayed from adventure and erred on the side of caution. When I knew I would be studying abroad in Spain this semester, I made a pact with myself that I would shed my comfort zone and branch out into the world's offerings. Here I am. I also moved to LA to pursue entertainment journalism. Basically I'm seeking to overthrow Ryan Seacrest.

PHILOSOPHY

Do you.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I typically stay on the lighter end of the spectrum in regards to movies like romantic comedies and feel-good movies, but I do like the occasional drama or action movie. Some of my favorite movies are: "Black Swan," "Slumdog Millionaire," "Save the Last Dance," The Bourne Series, "Ocean's 11," "Spy Game," "Waking Up In Vegas," "The Devil Wears Prada," "The Break-Up," and "Catch Me If You Can"

Music: I have a very wide music collection. Most of it could be classified as the iPod of a 10-year old girl, but I don't care :D I like music that wakes me up, that gets me moving. I'm not one to seek shelter or a greater meaning in music, it's simply a sound to me. Call me shallow, but I'm not much of the emotionally in-tune type. With that said, some of my favorite artists/groups are: Mariah Carey, Usher, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Glee Cast, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Cirque du Soleil, Josh Groban, Edurne, Adele, Carrie Underwood, Lady Gaga, Goo Goo Dolls, Sugarland, Jesse y Joy and Rihanna.

Books: I didn't use to be much of a reader, but this year I made it a mission to read more. My taste in books is also all over the place. I walked out of a bookstore last year with Chelsea Handler's "Are you there Vodka, It's Me, Chelse?" and Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine," a hardcore global economics book. I read either the really light-hearted autobiographies or fictions, and anything pertaining to the world, whether it be economics, politics, cultures, or history. Like most of those born in the '90's, I love the Harry Potter series as well :D This summer I am embarking on a quest to read all of the classics, some of which, I already love, like "The Great Gatsby," and "The Sound & the Fury."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

In my very long 20-year lifespan, the most amazing thing I have seen would be the view of Barcelona atop Montjuïc at dusk.
