About Me

CURRENT MISSION

make the world my playground

ABOUT ME

I'm constantly trying to improve and learn. I hate getting tied up in too many things and being dependent on things I don't need, which is a big reason I chose to bike the US; it prevents me from having to pay gas/maintenance costs that cars carry.

My cell # is 616.502.8306 if you need to contact me.

PHILOSOPHY

By bettering myself I can achieve more freedom in this world and more fun in this life...I also believe you can learn a lot about a person by scanning the literature they keep close by; couchsurfing+digging into the host's literature is probably the most authentic and expansive method I've found of mining and refining new ideas.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed quite a bit, will definitely host if the opportunity arises

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I was sitting in a bar in Hoxie, Kansas and although I was planning on continuing (despite it being 11:30pm) the patrons suggested I register with the local ministry for a free room there that night. I accepted their help, but was later notified that the ministry was declining to help me as I was in a bar enjoying myself. The bartender thought this was "bullshit" so began a sort of collection to help me buy a room; quite a few contributed, around $26 was accumulated. One of the patrons took 20 of the $ in exchange for giving me a room. Thus was my first freestyle couchsurfing experience.

I made one of many couchsurfing requests to a college town in the middle of Illinois called Galesburg. I received no successful confirmations, but a few days later, just west of Quincy, IL, I was having tire problems and a girl who had a login stamp registered in Galesburg's parents picked me up and helped get my bike fixed, as well as unwittingly accepting the couch request I had made to the girl in her stead. Bridget Barton and I met up later on that night. Have fun in Peru, Bridget!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I found a way to get a boxed pizza through the back alleys of Columbia, MO intact while munching on it the whole way, part of the excursion involving climbing a precariously placed pile of mattresses up a sheer wall of concrete- it was a very good pizza.

The Rockies from the peak of Flagstaff (not the city, the foothill near Boulder)

Teach, Learn, Share
